I think everyone is interesting, everything is interesting; even boring people fascinate me with their inane dullness. I want to consume it all. I want to know why you want to fuck people wearing clown makeup. I want to know why getting married is so important to you. I want to know what you're hiding. I want to know if you ever regret having a child on your own. I want to know what you're so scared of. I want to know if there's a dark corner in your mind that you've never shared with anyone else, and perhaps are too scared to even say aloud. I want to know what drove you to cut her brakes. I want to know what it's like to be inside a box so simple and shiny, and if it's as hollow as I imagine it to be.
The neighbors might tell you they saw me sitting on the back steps on Sunday night in a t-shirt with a cigarette and an uncorked bottle of Grey Goose, alternately wringing my hands through my messy hair, swigging vodka straight from the bottle, and muttering to myself about unstable weather and the ungrateful heathens in my life. I might deny this, but I would submit that the neighbors are likely the more credible party. ~S
Have you ever held on to something so tightly with your hand that when you let go your fingers were stiff and sore? When you open your hand fully and flex your fingers, the pain subsides. That is what it is like when you let go of people's expectations. At first it seems painful but the more you open up the greater the relief. ~ S
